Introduction

People come for therapies with various challenges and surprisingly in many cases, irrespective of the type of challenge the root cause would be their strained relationship with parents. Whether parents dead or alive we tend to carry this emotional baggage and it influences our Relationships,Career,Finances and even health on day to day basis.

    Reason for Strained relationships with Children

    In Most cases barring severe abusive relationships between children and parents, a proper space where there is scope for honest & free communication would have stopped creation of this emotional baggage in first place.

    Way to Enhance Your Relationship with Children and also Your Fitness!!

    Let’s look into How we can Create this space for our children where they can learn to freely express their feelings with us and how about we also attain our Fitness goals while creating this space!!

    Bonding with young children with fun time

    If you have young children and this is one of your regular complaints – He/She getting stubborn, acts restless/angry,  doesn’t eat properly or sleep on time etc.,  know that the lungs of young children expand 70% more than adults and when this energy doesn’t find a proper channel, kids feels smothered energetically and throw all kinds of tantrums.


    You can help your children vent out this energy by indulging in some sports or physical activity with them for 30-40mins atleast 3-4 times a week.


    Though this sounds demanding considering your busy routines, this activity will also help you relieve stress related to work or social life. Playing with children naturally increase your dopamine levels and instead of eating your energy, this will increase your energy and productivity.


    Along with physical benefits, it will give you an opportunity to bond with your children well, allow them to see the other side of you and you will be surprised to know a different side of your children under these circumstances. More than anything you need to attempt this to drop any barriers between you and your children.

    Bonding with Teenage Children

    If your children are in teenage, they probably won’t prefer to play with you because they are not used to it. In that case just go for a walk with them. Let me tell you a secret, When insulin levels drop the critical filters drop as well and people tend to express their feelings honestly (Hey!! don’t tell me, the idea of taking your partner on a walk crossed your mind at this point!!!).

    Why Parents don't indulge in fun or playful activities with Children

    1. Perception of Authority

    Many Parents don’t indulge in playful activities with children because of the fear of Losing Authority over children by exposing the playful part of them. 

     

    The fact is, you will never know until you attempt to engage in playful activities with children. You may end up gaining their trust and respect by being you.

    2. Lack of time

    This is an understandable fact and is the top reason for the procrastination of any fun activities for families. 

     

    But do you believe your workload will be less next year, or will your child be 7 years old again?

    Conclusion

    By creating an environment of fun when your children are young, you are gifting them a reason to connect back to you in person when they grow up, not just on WhatsApp or Facebook. 

     

    Attempt this for at least a week and inspire us by sharing your experience!!
